Updating a Cloud Connection (Azure)

After creating a Cloud Connection, the following parameters can be changed:

• Name changes

• Speed changes for certain clouds (availability depends on the cloud provider; please refer to the notes below for details)

• Note: Parameters not listed above (e.g., cloud-side Account ID, etc.) cannot be changed. To modify these, you must recreate the resource.

• Note: When recreating a resource, fees will be incurred based on the Cloud Connection Pricing Structure.

Notes on Speed (Bandwidth) Changes

Changing the speed (bandwidth) for a Cloud Connection depends on the specifications of each cloud provider, so the behavior will vary. Please be aware of the following:

Cloud Name	Bandwidth Change via OCX Portal	Remarks
AWS (Amazon Web Services)	Not Available	To change the bandwidth, you must recreate the Cloud Connection. Note that fees will be incurred based on the Cloud Connection Pricing Structure.
Azure	Available (Increase only)	After making changes in the OCX Portal, a bandwidth change is required in "ExpressRoute circuits" on the Azure portal.
Google Cloud	Available (Increase and decrease)	—
Sakura Cloud	Change via support inquiry	To request a change, please contact us via the Inquiry Desk on the Dashboard.
Oracle Cloud	Available (Increase and decrease)	After making changes in the OCX Portal, a bandwidth change is required in "FastConnect" on the Oracle Cloud console.
IBM Cloud	Available (Increase and decrease)	After making changes in the OCX Portal, change approval is required in "Direct Link" on the IBM Cloud console.
Alibaba Cloud	Available (Increase and decrease)	After making changes in the OCX Portal, a bandwidth change is required in "Physical Connection" on the Alibaba Cloud console.

This page explains the procedure for updating a Cloud Connection (Azure) using the OCX Portal.

Preparation

Please confirm the following before changing the settings for a Cloud Connection (Azure):

1. Your User Role is either admin or user.
2. The status of the Cloud Connection you wish to change is available or attached.

Procedure for Updating a Cloud Connection (Azure)

1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

2. Click [Cloud Connections] from the left navigation bar.

3. Click the Edit icon in the Actions column on the right side of the target Cloud Connection.

4. The screen will switch to the information input screen. Fill in the following items and click [Edit]. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

   • Name
     • Set any name you prefer.
     • Maximum length is 40 characters.
     • Any leading or trailing whitespace in the resource name will be automatically removed.
   • Speed (Bandwidth)
     • Select a value from 50, 100, 200, 500Mbps, 1, 2, or 5Gbps. (Bandwidths below 1Gbps have been supported since November 2023).
       • For Azure, you cannot change the bandwidth to a value lower than the current setting.

5. The [Confirm Update] pop-up will appear. Review the updated monthly fee and, if there are no issues, click [Edit].

6. You will be returned to the Cloud Connections list page. Confirm that the changes have been reflected.

7. For Azure, there is a redundant resource with the same VLAN. When changing the Speed (Bandwidth), please also perform steps "3 to 6" for the redundant resource.
