Updating a Cloud Connection (IBM Cloud)
After creating a Cloud Connection, the following parameters can be changed:
-
Name changes
-
Speed changes for certain clouds (availability depends on the cloud provider; see notes below for details)
-
Customer IP changes
-
IBM Cloud IP changes
-
Customer AS Number changes

Note: Parameters not listed above (e.g., cloud-side Account ID, etc.) cannot be changed. To modify these, you must recreate the resource.
-
Note: When recreating a resource, fees will be incurred based on the Cloud Connection Pricing Structure.
Notes on Speed (Bandwidth) Changes
Changing the speed (bandwidth) for a Cloud Connection depends on the specifications of each cloud provider, so the behavior will vary. Please be aware of the following:
| Cloud Name | Bandwidth Change via OCX Portal | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| AWS (Amazon Web Services) | Not Available | To change the bandwidth, you must recreate the Cloud Connection. Note that fees will be incurred based on the Cloud Connection Pricing Structure. |

This page explains the procedure for updating a Cloud Connection (IBM Cloud) using the OCX Portal.
Preparation
Please confirm the following before updating the settings of a Cloud Connection (IBM Cloud):
- Your User Role is either
adminoruser. - The status of the Cloud Connection you wish to change is
availableorattached. - Confirm the Direct Link associated with the Cloud Connection to be changed:
- Since change approval is required on the IBM Cloud console, please identify the target Direct Link in advance.
- The Direct Link name on the IBM Cloud console is automatically generated upon Cloud Connection creation. You can check the name of the associated Direct Link by clicking the
Information iconin the Actions column on the right side of the target Cloud Connection item.
Procedure for Updating a Cloud Connection (IBM Cloud)

Confirmation on IBM Cloud Console
- After updating the settings on the OCX Portal, find the Direct Link associated with the changed Cloud Connection on the IBM Cloud console.
- Click Review to check the Direct Link details and approve the configuration changes.
- If you reject the changes for the Direct Link, the parameters will be mismatched between the OCX Cloud Connection and the IBM Direct Link. In this case, please perform the update on the OCX Portal again to ensure both resources match. Note that billing for each resource will be based on the parameters after the update.
This completes the process for updating a Cloud Connection (IBM Cloud).
