Updating SIM
This page explains the procedure for updating a SIM using the OCX Portal.
Preparation
Please confirm the following before updating a SIM:
- Your User Role is either
adminoruser.
Remarks
- When resuming SIM communication, a restart of the device is required.
- To apply the network settings immediately, please execute a reconnection. Please note that reconnecting will temporarily disconnect the communication of the target SIM.
- Which network the device connects to after the network configuration depends on the device specifications.
Procedure for Updating a SIM
- Log in to the OCX Portal.
- Click [Access Lines] from the left navigation bar.
- When the [Access Lines] sub-menu appears, click [SIMs].
- In the Actions column on the right side of the resource you wish to update, click the icon or tab in the detail screen at the bottom of the page corresponding to the change you want to make.
- Resume Communication:
Start icon- Used to resume communication for the SIM.
- Stop Communication:
Stop icon- Used to stop communication for the SIM.
- Reattach:
Reattach icon- Used to reattach the SIM.
- Address Pool Settings:
Link icon- Used to configure Address Pool settings for the SIM.
- Update basic Configuration: [Basic Settings] tab
- Used to change the SIM Basic settings.
- Update network Configuration: [Network Settings] tab
- Used to change the SIM Network settings.
- Update options Configuration: [Options Settings] tab
- Used to change the SIM Options settings.
- Resume Communication:
- Perform the changes using the selected icon or tab. Please refer to the detailed procedures below.
Resuming Communication
- Click the
Start icon. - A confirmation pop-up for resuming communication will appear. Enter the ID and click [Resume Communication].
*To cancel the operation, click [Cancel]. - Confirm that the status next to the updated resource becomes activated.
*You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.
Stopping Communication
- Click the
Stop icon. - A confirmation pop-up for stopping communication will appear. Enter the ID and click [Stop Communication].
*To cancel the operation, click [Cancel]. - Confirm that the status next to the updated resource becomes deactivated.
*You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.
Reattach
- Click the
Reattach icon. - A confirmation pop-up for reconnection will appear. Enter the ID and click [Reattach].
*To cancel the operation, click [Cancel]. - The communication of the target SIM will be temporarily disconnected before reconnecting.
*You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.
Address Pool Settings
- Click the
Link icon. - The ADDRESS POOL SETTINGS screen will appear. Select the following items and click [Settings].
*To cancel the operation, click [Cancel].- Virtual Mobile Gateway
- Select the Virtual Mobile Gateway to which the Address Pool for the SIM belongs.
*Displayed in the format "ID: Name".
- Select the Virtual Mobile Gateway to which the Address Pool for the SIM belongs.
- Address Pool
- Once the Virtual Mobile Gateway is selected, the Address Pool field will appear.
- Select the Address Pool for the SIM.
*Displayed in the format "ID: Name".
- Network
- Select the network to assign to the SIM.
- Reconnect
- Enable the toggle if you wish to reconnect after configuring the Address Pool settings.
- Please note that reconnecting will temporarily disconnect the communication of the target SIM.
- Virtual Mobile Gateway
- After completing the settings, you will be able to verify the IP address of the target SIM on the SIMs page.
*You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.
Update Basic Configuration
- Click [Edit] on the [Basic Settings] tab.
- The screen will switch to the configuration change steps. The following items can be modified. After completing the input for the items you wish to change, click [Update].
- Name
- Enter an arbitrary name. Entering a name that is easy to identify will make management easier.
- Maximum number of characters is 40.
- Leading and trailing whitespace in the resource name will be automatically removed.
- Name
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. If there are no issues with the details, click [Update].
- Confirm that the changes are reflected in the name of the updated resource.
*You can update the status by clicking [Refresh] in the upper right corner.
Update Network Configuration
- Click [Edit] on the [Network Settings] tab.
- The screen will switch to the configuration change steps. The following items can be modified. After completing the input for the items you wish to change, click [Update].
- Network
- Select a network.
- Reconnect
- Execute a reconnection.
- Execute a reconnection if you want to apply the network settings immediately.
- Please note that reconnecting will temporarily disconnect the communication of the target SIM.
- Network
- A confirmation pop-up will appear. If there are no issues with the details, click [Update].
- The [Network Settings] detail screen will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Please verify that the changes have been reflected correctly.

Bulk Updating Multiple SIMs
If you want to update multiple SIMs at once, you can perform bulk operations using the following procedure.
- Select the SIMs you want to update using the checkboxes on the left side of the SIM list (you can also select all SIMs using the checkbox in the header).
*You can select up to 100 SIMs at a time. If you try to select more than 100, a notification will be displayed. - Once you have selected one or more SIMs, the [Actions] button at the top of the screen becomes enabled.
- Click [Actions] and select the operation you want to perform (Resume Communication / Stop Communication / Reattach / Address Pool Settings / Network Settings / Delete).
*Depending on the status of the selected SIMs, some operations may be disabled (for example, Resume Communication is only available if all selected SIMs are currently stopped). Hovering over a disabled operation displays a tooltip explaining the reason. - A confirmation pop-up showing the list of selected SIMs will appear. Please review the details, check the attention checkbox, and proceed.
*In Address Pool Settings, the network selection field is only shown when a single SIM with no existing network assignment is selected.
