Creating a BGP Parameter
This page explains the Create BGP Parameter feature in the OCX Portal.
By using the BGP Parameter feature, BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) can be used to enable dynamic routing via eBGP connections.
- Once created, a BGP Parameter cannot be modified. To change the settings, delete the existing parameter and create a new one.
- Currently, up to two BGP Parameters can be created per resource.
Preparation
Before creating a BGP Parameter, please confirm the following:
- Your User Role is either
adminoruser. - The target XaaS Connection resource is in either the
availableorattachedstate.
Procedure for Creating a BGP Parameter
-
Log in to the OCX Portal.
-
From the left navigation bar, click [XaaS Connections].
-
From the XaaS Connections list page, click the target XaaS Connection resource.
-
In the lower half of the OCX Portal screen, click the BGP Parameters tab, then click [+] Create BGP Parameter.
-
The BGP Parameter creation screen will be displayed. Configure the following items and click [Create].
-
Remote Address
- Enter an IPv4 address (example:
192.168.0.254). - The address must belong to the same network segment as the IPv4 Gateway Address entered on the XaaS Connection creation screen.
Refer to the [Notes] section for unusable IP addresses.
- Enter an IPv4 address (example:
-
Remote ASN
- Enter the AS number of the customer network to be connected to the peer. Four-byte AS numbers are supported.
- The value must be different from the Local ASN entered on the XaaS Connection creation screen, as the connection operates as eBGP.
Refer to the [Notes] section for unusable AS numbers.
-
-
A confirmation pop-up will appear. Review the settings and click [Create].
-
The BGP Parameters list page will be displayed, and the newly created BGP Parameter will appear under BGP Parameters.
This completes the creation of the BGP Parameter.
