Manual Activation of Physical Port

This page explains how to immediately activate a created Physical Port using the OCX Portal.

Preparation​

Please confirm the following before manually activating a Physical Port:

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.

Remarks​

Please be aware that if you activate a Physical Port using this function, billing will commence immediately, regardless of the status of the cross-connect request or the actual link status of the port.

Procedure for Manual Activation of a Physical Port​

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.
  2. Click [Physical Ports] from the left navigation bar.
  3. Once the Physical Ports list page is displayed, click the Information icon in the Actions column on the right side of the Physical Port you wish to activate manually.
  4. The configuration information for the Physical Port will be displayed. Click [Activate] at the bottom left.
  5. A [Manual Physical Port Activation] pop-up will appear. Click [Activate].
    To cancel the operation, click [Cancel].
  6. Confirm that the status of the relevant Physical Port in the list has changed to available.

This completes the manual activation of the Physical Port. Once the status changes to available through this operation, you will be able to create VCIs on that Physical Port. For the procedure to create a VCI, please refer to Creating a VCI.

Notes​

  • Even if you create a VCI using a Physical Port activated through this operation as an endpoint, communication will only be possible after the physical cross-connect wiring is completed by the data center operator.
