Configuring Virtual Circuit (VC) Detachments

Disconnecting resources such as VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, VMG Instance, or SmartVPN Interface from a Virtual Circuit (VC) is referred to as Detaching.

This page explains how to use the OCX Portal to detach resources (VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, VMG Instance, or SmartVPN Interface) that are currently configured on a VC.

Preparation

Please confirm the following before detaching a resource from a VC:

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.

Procedure for Detaching from a Virtual Circuit (VC)

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.
  2. Click [Virtual Circuits (VCs)] from the left navigation bar.
  3. Once the Virtual Circuits (VCs) page appears, click on the VC from which you wish to detach a resource.
  4. From the tabs at the bottom of the screen, select the category of the resource you wish to detach: VCIs, Cloud Connections, Router Connections, Internet Connections, Internet Gateways, Tunnel Gateways, XaaS Connections, VMG Instances, or SmartVPN Interfaces.
  5. A list of resources available for detachment will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Click [Detach] in the Actions column on the right side of the resource you wish to disconnect from the VC.
  6. A confirmation pop-up for the VC detachment will appear. Review the details and click [Detach].
  7. Confirm that the status of the detached resource changes back to available and that the [Attach] button now appears in the Actions column.
Tip: You can update the status by clicking the [Refresh] button in the upper right corner.

This completes the VC detachment process.
