Configuring Virtual Circuit (VC) Attachments

Setting up a connection between a Virtual Circuit (VC) and resources such as VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, VMG Instance, or SmartVPN Interface is referred to as Attaching.

This page explains how to use the OCX Portal to attach a VC to pre-created resources (VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, SmartVPN Interface, or VMG Instance).

Preparation

Please confirm the following before attaching a resource to a VC:

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.
  2. The target VC has been created and its status is available.
  3. The resource to be attached (VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, VMG Instance, or SmartVPN Interface) has been created and its status is available.
  4. The Area of the resource's interface matches the Area of the VC. For more details, please refer to How IAVC Works.

Procedure for Attaching to a Virtual Circuit (VC)

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.
  2. Click [Virtual Circuits (VCs)] from the left navigation bar.
  3. Once the Virtual Circuits (VCs) page appears, click on the target VC.
  4. From the tabs at the bottom of the screen, select the category of the resource you wish to attach: VCIs, Cloud Connections, Router Connections, Internet Connections, Internet Gateways, Tunnel Gateways, XaaS Connections, VMG Instances, or SmartVPN Interfaces.
  5. A list of candidate resources for attachment will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Click [Attach] in the Actions column on the right side of the resource you wish to connect to the VC.
  6. A confirmation pop-up for the VC attachment will appear. Review the details and click [Attach].
  7. Confirm that the status of the attached resource changes to attached and that the [Detach] button now appears in the Actions column.
Tip: You can update the status by clicking the [Refresh] button in the upper right corner.

This completes the VC attachment process.
