Creating a Virtual Circuit (VC)
This page explains how to create a Virtual Circuit (VC) using the OCX Portal.
- When creating a VC, you must select an Area to control which resources can be attached.
- If you select multiple areas, inter-area communication becomes possible for a fee. For pricing details, please refer to this page.
- If you select only one area, the service is free of charge.
Preparation
Before creating a VC, please confirm the following:
- Your User Role is either
adminoruser.
Procedure for Creating a Virtual Circuit (VC)

Log in to the OCX Portal.

Click [Virtual Circuits (VCs)] from the left navigation bar.

On the Virtual Circuits page, click [+ Create] in the upper right corner.

The screen will switch to the VC creation step. Configure the following items and click [Create].
- Name
- Enter an arbitrary name. A name that is easy to identify will simplify management.
- Maximum length: 40 characters.
- Leading and trailing whitespaces are automatically removed.
- Area
- Select one or two Areas. You cannot select three or more. Selecting two areas will incur a fee, enabling communication across different areas (for details, refer to IAVC).
- When attaching resources to the VC, only resources with interfaces in the selected area(s) can be attached.
- Please note that the area(s) cannot be changed after the VC is created.
- Name

A [Confirm Creation] pop-up will appear. Review the details and click [Create].

The created resource will appear in the list at the top of the screen. Confirm that the status next to the resource becomes available. Tip: You can update the status by clicking the [Refresh] button in the upper right corner.
This completes the creation of the Virtual Circuit (VC).
Once a VC is created, you can attach pre-created resources such as VCI, Cloud Connection, Router Connection, Internet Connection, Internet Gateway, Tunnel Gateway, XaaS Connection, VMG Instance, and SmartVPN Interface.
