Creating an OPTAGE Connection

This page explains how to create an OPTAGE Connection using the OCX Portal.

An OPTAGE Connection creates two interfaces at once. (Interfaces are created at JP-West-0027 in the site list.) By configuring one resource with two interfaces, connection redundancy is ensured.

Preparation​

Please confirm the following before creating an OPTAGE Connection:

  1. Your User Role is either admin or user.
  2. You have subscribed to the OPTAGE VPN Service.
  3. You have contacted your OPTAGE Inc. sales representative regarding the creation of the OPTAGE Connection (a separate procedure is required).

Remarks​

OPTAGE Connection is a service that provides a connectivity point between the OPTAGE VPN Service and OCX, and is a separate service from the OPTAGE VPN Service offered by OPTAGE Inc.

Procedure for Creating an OPTAGE Connection​

  1. Log in to the OCX Portal.

  2. From the left navigation bar, click [OPTAGE Connection] under [Access Partner Connections].

  3. On the OPTAGE Connection list page, click [Create].

  4. The information entry screen will appear. Fill in the following items and click [Create]. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

    • Name
      • Enter an arbitrary name. If you plan to create multiple OPTAGE Connections, entering a name that is easy to identify will make management easier.
      • The maximum number of characters is 40.
      • Leading and trailing whitespace characters in the resource name are automatically removed.
    • Region
      • West Japan only.
    • Speed (Bandwidth)
      • Select from 100M to 1Gbps.
    • Circuit ID
      • The Circuit ID is a 12-digit number issued when using OPTAGE Inc.'s service.

  5. A [Confirm Creation] pop-up will appear. Review the notes and click [Create].

  6. On the OPTAGE Connection list page, confirm that the status of the created OPTAGE Connection is activating.

  7. The status will change to available either by performing a manual activation of the OPTAGE Connection or after 30 days have passed since the OPTAGE Connection was created.

  8. Once the status changes to available, the OPTAGE Connection Interface can be attached to a VC.

Notes​

After creating an OPTAGE Connection, billing begins when the status becomes available, either by performing a manual activation or after 30 days have passed since the creation date. For procedures related to the OPTAGE VPN Service, please consult your OPTAGE Inc. sales representative.
